Sponsor a Project

A Project is composed of various components which are designed for the overall benefit of the children and their families in a community based programme and for the individual children either in an Institutional programme or in a Child at High Risk Programme. In order to support some of them, gifts and donations from sponsors are most welcome.

1. To provide clean water for healthy living @ Rs. 30,000.

Women and children travel a long distance in remote villages to fetch water. This leaves less time for children to study while the women are often tired and burdened as the main responsibility of carrying the water falls on them. Your gift for installing a Hand Pump which will cost Rs. 30,000.00 , will enable the children to attend schools and reduce the suffering of women.

2. Health Check up Camps @ Rs.5,000.

Child Focused Community Development Projects have a very important component towards health of the children and the community. To ensure the well-being of children and mothers, one Health Check-up camp at the community level will cost Rs. 5,000 for undertaking a basic camp covering 50 children and 50 mothers.

Sponsor a Campaign

Community driven initiatives are cost effective and ensures protection to the vulnerable and marginalized families and children. In most of the villages growth and development are hampered due to certain practices or situations prevailing for a very long time. These could be child marriages, alcoholism and other superstitions.

HCDI facilitates the community to take up community action programmes by which these practices could be halted and a new direction can be provided to enable them to move forward. Such campaigns, by the community, involves taking up rallies or public meetings at village or block levels.

One such campaign will cost around Rs. 20,000, which you could sponsor by donating your gifts to Holistic Child Development India.

Emergency Support

The poor families of Madhepura district who have not yet forgotten the loss of their belongings due to Kosi floods were struck by an added misery of fire on 6th April 2010.

A Fire broke out in Horibola and Korlahi villages, where JVS is working on LRRD programme under HCDI/ KNH support in Madhepura District of Bihar in response to the floods of 2008. 21 families lost all their houses  and household belongings.  Bamboo walled and grass thatched houses caught fire from a short-circuit during wheat-thrashing. In the heat of the summer the fire went wild and out of control.  13 houses in Horibola and 8 houses in Korlahi where totally burnt to ashes within an hour. Some of the animals tied in the house also burnt totally to ashes. A Fire broke out in Horibola and Korlahi villages

The Staff of Jan Vikas Samiti/Holistic Child Development India rushed to the villages to extend support by mobilizing the people of the project villages to support the affected families with whatever immediate support possible. Each family was approached for a handful of grain to support the affected families.

An immediate support has been extended by Holistic Child Development India to the affected families. A total loss is estimated above Rs.5  Millions.   Initial support for the necessary household items and clothes is provided by HCDI. But the need is more and we welcome generous people to help the families for their rehabilitation.
