The Light to Life
The Light to Life program is an that supports the education and holistic development of less privileged children in different parts of India. This initiative has been a beacon of hope for over 5,950 underprivileged children across 14 states in the country, promoting education and overall development.

The Light to Life program through its educational activity centres provides comprehensive child development programs in the areas of Education, Physical, Socio Emotional & value-based living, thereby equipping the children with the necessary skills to face the outside world with more confidence and help them achieve their dreams in life. The Light to Life aims at social transformation through holistic development of children, and shed light on the lives of children to equip them to transform their own communities and the world at large.
After school hours, children visit these centres, spending 2-3 hours in a nurturing environment that fosters their holistic growth. Education being the cornerstone of the program, children receive regular remedial teaching and additional support to excel academically. Recognizing the importance of physical well-being, a nutritious meal is provided to support their growth and development.

The projects dedicated educational supervisors and facilitators go above and beyond, providing personalized care and support to each child. Regular visits to homes and schools create an enabling environment, ensuring children can concentrate on their studies and thrive in all aspects of life. Educational materials, including school supplies, uniforms, and bags, are provided to remove barriers to learning.
On weekends, cultural and extracurricular activities foster physical and socio – emotional development, allowing children to explore their talents and interests. These Light to Life projects are overseen and executed by local implementing organizations, which are independent entities or projects located in 14 different states.
Wherein, HCDI is assigned to provide guidance for the execution of programs through all these centres, regularly monitoring and evaluating the program activities and reporting to the Light to Life in New York. Through its periodic monitoring visits, HCDI ensures that the quality and efficiency of these programs are not compromised, offering guidance and support wherever needed to the partners and projects. Regular progress reports are shared with the funding agency, fostering transparency and accountability. HCDI also provides advisory and training support to partner projects, ensuring compliance with government regulations and best practices in programming and financial management.
